Quality

Water Damage - The book should have no visible signs of water or moisture damage including mold or mildew.

Remainder Marks - When publishers mark down a book and sell it off at a greatly reduced price, they often mark the edges of the book with a black mark or a publisher's logo.

Writing Within the Body of the Book - A book may have some small marking on the front or back free end papers, but it should not have any writing, highlighting, or underlining within the body of the book.

Broken Spines - The book may have creased spines, a common enough aspect of paperback books, but it should not have a broken spine where the binding material is clearly visible through the crease or if there seems any danger of the pages coming out of the book.

We make every effort to maintain the highest quality on all our books. In fact, it is our policy to only buy books that we grade as very good or better. But it is also possible that a book may come our way that is so unique it warrants special consideration, such as a rare out-of-print or signed edition. In this case, we will list this book amongst our rare books and give a complete description of its general quality. For our general stock, however, the following is a list of major quality flaws that we seek to avoid.

It is inevitable, considering the quantity of books we buy, that some books bearing some one of these flaws will slip past us. However, when a customer sends us an availability inquiry, we check the book a second time for quality. If the book exhibits one or more of the above listed flaws, and is not catalogued amongst our rare and collectible books, we will offer it to the customer at our clearance rate plus the regular shipping costs.
